I hate it when I have anyone leaning, touching or even breathing on my machine (even my girlfriend, who is forever slamming the door).

You have the right to beat his a$$. Believe me broh, you handled it quite down to earth and let him off too easy ('im sure it was much more intense in real life).

People don't know the hours and the amount of sweat we put in our vehicles...only "REAL" car maniacs like us know the meaning and value of a super-duper clean car we detailed ourself. In my books, he is punk that has too much money and has no clue....

Basically, it boils down to the vast majority of people have no consideration of other's property. Cars are always being banged into or beat up. My '97 has been hit so many times in the bumper covers, I couldn't even count them. Some jacka$$$ put a shopping cart into the '79 quarter panel. ...'but at a cruise night. What a complete idiot!!!!

This was a '69 GTO, a classic muscle car, at a car gathering. What kind of moron at a cruise night leans up against a GTO. That has got to be the stupidest thing I have heard in a long time. I can't believe that he said that to you. There is a difference between obsession and trying to keep a collectors item nice. My '79 sits under a car cover with a layer of dust on it most of the time, and I rarely even look at the thing, but my family knows not to disturb it, and I would be irate if someone purposely/carelessly damaged it. I don't know...but, whenever I am at a show or even a parking lot looking at a car, I put my hands behind my back, and keep my distance...it is common courtesy. When I am with my three year old, I don't park next to a nice car, and I keep him away from the parked cars. It is not that difficult to be aware of this. I certainly don't think that you were out of line...I would have been far more terrifying if that guy did that to my '79, or any of my cars for that matter including my Roadmaster.

I've had that problem at car shows and cruise nights as well. I can't believe people will actually lean against someone else's car. I don't even lean on my own vehicles, especially with jeans on. Most people are completey clueless when it comes to car care and have no idea what kind of damage they are doing to their car's finish.

jeff, you're right...I never realized, but I don't even lean on my cars...I close the doors with the door handle (hate finger prints) and even kick my shoes together at times to get dirt off before I enter the car...

people just lack respect...that's all. If it isn't theirs, they don't care.

it just gets to me that a idiot would even lean against a GTO, apparently he has no freaking clue what he is disrespecting. If I was anywhere a GTO I would practically worship it...geezz, IDIOTS!!! I feel for ya dude...

It's kind of scary because you just described me as well. I close the hood by the latch, not the hood itself. I close doors by the handle or the inside pillar area. I sit down and kick my shoes together before putting my feet inside. I hate fingerprints and wipe them off as soon as I see some. My truck isn't even nearly as nice as my 93 Z28 Indy 500 Pace Car was, but I developed the habits and I still do the same things.

I knew you guys would understand. Your getting me all fired up. I should have let him have it. His problem was that he was a rich snob with an 80k dollar car. He probably had the nicest car there, (obviously bought and not built) and my GTO was only worth 1/4 what his was, so he just helps himself. I wish I had the bird to blow his doors off and show him what his 80K bought him.
