More data from the 1997 Pontiac Firebird sales brochure:

"Curb Weight: 3,267 to 3,643 lbs"

I think its safe to say that covers the range from a stripped base V6, 5-speed coupe to a fully loaded, A4 Trans Am convertible.

I would say maybe average but thats only because there are so many V6 models. Average V8 is 3000-3600

Yeah, I thought I smelled some male cow around that statement. Thanks for clearing that up Eric

I weighed my 1996 Z28 prior to a household move and after loading it. After adding in the weight to account for a full tank of gas, and the rear seats, and spare and jack I took out...It came out very close to 3,500lbs. Over by maybe 15 lbs.

                  That's with:
                  Auto Trans
                  LT1
                  A/C
                  Spare/Jack
Pretty much loaded options (no cd changer)

                  Now...after I loaded up I was at 4,000.
