I figured I'd ask how hard this is to do as I am considering replacing my fuel filter once I go through my first tank of E10 fuel. Now that my car is still running strong, feeling very little difference with the new E10 fuel (actually might be a bit stronger), I'd like to keep it that way. The reason I feel the filter may need to be changed is because I did not have the opportunity to completely run out of the old fuel, so there was some gas with MTBE in the tank when filling up with E10 (shouldn't have been that much since the gas guage was pretty close to E, and it took 13.7 gallons). Is it true that mixing MTBE and Ethanol gas causes the gas to turn into black goo and clog everything up (fuel lines, filter, injectors, etc)?
Tanks.
