UPS just dropped off my SLP manual fan switch today. Looking at the instructions, it doesnt look like its gonna be much hassle. Has anyone else put one in before? Any tips? Any suggestions as to where to mount it? If my XM radio wasnt there already, Id make a face plate and mount it in the console in the little storage cup in front of the ashtray. Thanks for any ideas or tips.

Easy greasy...the hard part would be mounting the switch. I mounted mine on the center consol.

I used a small piece of polished 20 ga stainless. Sorry my picture is so crappy (it was meant to be a pic of the interior, not necessarily the ashtray), it actually is pretty trick - I have the aux fuel pump, 2 fans, elec cut out, line lock enable, and antenna defeat switches in there - 6 in all. Designed the little piece in CAD to get all the holes where they needed to be. Make a pattern out of cardboard first. You can put your screw holes in the LL and LR corners. I had some plated steel in there at first, but it looked like crap - probably could have used aluminum & clearcote it to keep it looking nice.

well i just got my fan switch in...only took about an hour for the actual install. the longest, most PITA part was making a face plate for the switch...i decided to put it where the ashtray was like Craig and Kevin did theirs. since i didnt have any scrap metal laying around, i made mine out of some sheet plastic i had left over from my model cars...then lettered the on/off settings, painted it gunmetal gray which is almost an exact match for the dash/console. Luckily the ignition has to be on for the switch to work, so at least i wont ever run down the battery if i forget to turn it off.LarryMow-93 V6 Firebird-No engine mods-Z06 Wheels, '98 Taillights,'98 Center Console-SLP fan switch-BMR STB, F/R Swaybars, PHB,LCA,Torque Arm, SFC, Bilsteins, Eibachs....www.cardomain.com/ride/2489691/1

Update: well i took my ride out for the 1st time since installing the switch. Without the fan on, the car ran about 220...with the fan on, about 180. I didnt think it would be that much, I was pleasantly surprised.LarryMow-93 V6 Firebird-No engine mods-Z06 Wheels, '98 Taillights,'98 Center Console-SLP fan switch-BMR STB, F/R Swaybars, PHB,LCA,Torque Arm, SFC, Bilsteins, Eibachs....www.cardomain.com/ride/2489691/1
