    Tracy:

Would it be possible to get a couple of high quality photos showing the clearance between the motor mounts and the SLP headers on both sides? This is for a revised motor mount detail that Steve Spohn is working on for his tubular K-member.

Sure, that would be no problem at all. I'll snap some and post links to them tonight.

Hope you got enough. I put that stuff all over the heater box, around all the heater hoses, etc. I make sure I keep some around, it's handy stuff.

I ordered a 12" square of it. That should be plenty to cover the ABS wires and have some left over. These coated headers are supposed to reduce underhood temperatures, so I'm hoping that I dont need too much heat insulation on other stuff. If my A/C doesnt get as cold I'll have to order more and insulate the HVAC box. You got me thinking, though, I should of ordered 2 squares for future use.

I didn't need any of it on my crate, but the starter solenoid is a good candidate if you're looking for a good place to stick some.

Post up some pics when you get the chance...

Did you get the dipstick fiasco sorted out?

Were you able to adjust the driver's side flange away from the crossmember?

It Lives! I just fired it up, open headers, and it runs. It was past 10 so I didn't let it run very long, but at least I know it fires up. Man, was it loud! I'm excited to hear what it sounds like with the Borla hooked up. I have a feeling I won't need to open the e-cutout very often any more.

I'm going to wait for the heat insulation I ordered to show up, then I'll insulate those 2 ABS wires. Then, off to the muffler shop it goes to get the cat installed. I'm going to have them make a test pipe for me too so I can swap back and forth from cat to no cat without any welding required.

The cat will tame the exhaust note somewhat. Headers, no cat and an open borla are pretty darned throaty. The open borla with a cat will still get noticed, but some of the rasp will be gone.

                          no problem!

I just took it for a ride around the block with the open headers. I couldn't resist. It runs smooth and idles good. No dash lights came on. It looks healthy. I cant wait to get it finished!

I drove my car around for one night with the headers open after I installed them. I didnt want to hook the Flowmaster back up!! But I didnt really have a choice.... I doubt I would have made it another day without getting pulled over.

In picture P1010095.....did anyone else besides myself take notice of the mini-fridge in the background but real close to the car...why do I have the feeling its filled with a few cold beers to help relieve stress brought on by installing what looked to be a set of tight fitting headers.... Glad you got it running and that it sounds good.
