  • Rear Sagging?

I put really inexpensive monroe shocks in the rear, and after 10k miles my car looks to sit lower in the back. I see other camaros that sit higher like my friends 98. Should I replace the shocks with stock ones to raise the rear up, it just looks like its way low. Thanks

The ride height is controlled by the springs, not the shocks.

So could my springs be on the way out?

If they can't hold up the back end, they may be worn out. There's nothing else holding it up. There's a hard rubber seat between the top of the spring and the body, and they might possibly be worn, but I've never seen them fall apart. "Gas" shocks might exert a very small pressure in the upward direction, but not enough to make a visual difference in ride height.

Yea I already replaced the bump stops a while ago. I'll look into getting a new set of stock springs. Is this a weekend project or should they be changed at a shop? Thanks for the help injuneer

You can knock out a job like this in no more than 1-4 hours alone- (depending on ur skill level). I replaced all 4 shocks and springs in about 3 hours (On a 1996 Z28). Alone. And that was with alot of breaks so its possible to do it in one day no problem.
