2.73 is the only one I can think of. My 89 automatic camaro had those gears.

Im thinking 3.42. Thats what I think I have and we have the same car. Simply mine is M6. I was looking at your Sig. and I saw you ran a 13.4 ET. With what kind of Tires did you do that. I mean I have half the Miles and mine is not that quick.

i know for a fact the M6 and the A4 are different, i did alot of tests and when i raced i shifted gears right be4 the end of the track at about 98 mph, and it came throo at 104 mph, witch means the 3rd gear rpms are way too low and not really pulling. I went 105 in third today and i was at a low 3900 rpm. all my tests point to a 2.73 rear, if i had 343's at 105 id be at about 4700 rpm, using 245/50/16's (80.375 circumfrence which i measured like 4 times). Im gunna put small tires on to get a few more rpm's in third gear for when i race. I wanna do this cuz if i have to lift against someone, i dont want it to shift down on me, or not have enough power to actually pedal my car without them getting by me.

When i went a 13.47, there was a bit of a tail wind, but i still used 245/50/16's that were almost completley bald, and i did a pretty big burnout, they were kindof like slicks, and my best 60 ft was a 2.04

I heard that On normal Street tires, You make it worse if you do big burn-outs, but im sure the "bladness" had alot to do with you getting a 2.04.. ha ha ha. Yeah Im sure with some Drag Radials, you can pull under 2.00 60'. Yeah I cant hook my 245, but I have an M6 so. I have no choice but to keep my 16's, so Im going to go with some GY F1's since im going to be doing Auto-cross more than Drag.

Stock GM put a lot of 2.73 axles out there (probably to give a higher Corporate Average Fuel Economy, CAFE number). The performance option was a 3.23 for the A4, and the M6 came with a 3.42. Check your build codes on the door, a GU2 was 2.73 axle, GU5 was for 3.23, and GU6 indicates a 3.42. G80 is the RPO code for positraction-

The "base" V8 A4's came with 2.73 (GU2, 2-series carrier) gears. If your car was ordered from the factory with the "performance axle package", it had 3.23:1 rear gears (GU5, 3-series carrier). ALL 94-02 M6's are 3.42:1 (GU6, 3-series carrier). The 93 M6's are the only non-3.42 M6 cars, with either the 2.73 or 3.23 rear axle ratios as well (and steeper 1st gear ratios in the T56).

Typically (but not always), if the console does not allow you to select "1" and you have the 110+MPH speedo, you will have the 2.73 gears. If you can select "1" with the shifter, and you have the 150+ MPH speedo, you will probably have 3.23's.
