thats what i was looking at apete, im not going to use it much, its just pretty cheap to get setup , my friend has it and its funner then hell when u use it , he lets me drive it sometimes (honda civic 150 shot)im not doing it for racing ,but more for fun (might sound stupid) but i want something thats not bad for engine, was going to get it before the plugs oil leak happened , would i even notice a 50shot on a car that weighs 3500 pounds

do these cars break that much,is labor that bad,i thought it would be reliable cause my dads had 2 chevy v8 trucks and there like a rock, one has 156k rides like a champ, im gonna fork out the cash to get it fixed tommorow, and if it gives me anymore problems im gonna sell it and buy a turbo gsx or gst eclipse, thats what i was gonna buy before i took my first drive in v8
i really love this car and i want to do alot of mods to it but if it keeps breaking i cant and that really makes me sad this is the (funnest car i ever owned)i didnt just get it to mess around but for my daily driver and for my girl , she loves the car,and i like it cause im the only one in town that has one ,kids adults by the 100s all have stangs here, so its cool to have something differnt , i checked reliability on car buying websites and it was good for this car

If your comparing Chevy trucks to an F-body then your way off man. Yeah my old man has a 95 Silverado. Never has done a thing to it and it runs Great still. These cars take a lot more abuse. They are reliable when its taken care off, but the more you beat on it the short life its going to have. You can not compare any import to a domestic. Imports are a million times cheaper to maintain and to fit up. Its not that these cars break down a lot, its that when they do, its expernsive to fix. Its even worse if you dont know about cars. They are pretty hard to work on for the unexperienced person. Thats why I say that, if you dont have alot of money, you better know how to fix it yourself b/c it can get rather expensive.
P.S. How old are you man. JUst curiousEddie

Parts for these cars are cheaper than import parts, but it's the labor that will kill you. That's why, like mentioned before, it's great to be able to do your own work. It not only helps save money there, but you can take pride in knowing you did it yourself and if you know the car you'll know when somebody's blowing smoke up your a$$ telling such-and-such needs fixed.
These cars really aren't any more expensive to own than any other car, they just tend to get driven hard and modified, all of which tends to shorten the lifespan of parts. There's nothing inherently wrong with these cars. But if you're a young person struggling to get by financially, then yes, these cars can be hard on the wallet when they do need fixed.Dave M

I'm having trouble following the symptoms and troubleshooting on this problem. Here are the original symptom statements:
"I havent driven the car for 2 days this mourning on my way to work when i would give it gas at low rpms the stickshift and car would shake a little bit hesitate then go ,over 3000rpms everthing worked fine, should i worry any ideals thanks"
"the old owner did have all kinds of wierd stuff on the clutch,it was cold the car takes a long time to warm up,real long?i just drove it to get it tinted 20%front limoback wastnt having the problem it was wierd this mourning?1st 2nd was giving me the most trouble thanks"
"now the car is lurching forward in 1st and 2nd when i give it alot of gas ,the stickshift shakes when this happens,it only happens sometimes maybe 4 out of 10 times ,the car was warm and the weather is cool"
"now the cars shakeing real bad when i accellerate in 6th gear could something have gotten wet it just rained real bad"
So, are the symptoms still the same? does it ever drive smoothly? What about at idle? If you're cruising at a steady speed in in 6th gear does it shake?... or only if you step on it. If you're in 6th but under 3,000 rpm and you step on it, what does it do? Is their any loss of power? Does the exhuast sound any different? Does the exhaust look or smell any different? If it's shaking in 6th and you press in the clutch does it still shake? Did somebody mess with the car when it sat for 2 days?
Also, you had some suggestions:
"How old are the O2 sensors?"
"my dad says a vacum leak but i dont think thats it"
Have you checked them out?1995 Formula - Bone Stock, A/T
