oh yeah, this is what happened to me 2 years ago when I was curious to see where a knock was coming from, this happened just turning it over. Also blew the valve cover in half, and shot the dipstick down the street.

Whatever happens I dont see myself rebuilding the orginal motor. I can get a used motor out of a junkyard for under $500 and swap it out in a weekend.

TraceZ, I really want to drop in the LT1 you mentioned. I have spent tons of time researching the engine & exactly whats involved in a swap. The biggest problem I am going to have is location. I dont have a garage so I would need to find a place I could keep the car for a couple weeks while I worked on it.
