So it's not just Pennsylvanians that make fun of NJ?

Even if the block was damaged beyond repair, a junk yard block that can be rebuilt has to be very cheap. The SBC is about as common as you can get.

What's wrong with the trans? What's wrong with the rear? Why do you need to replace both of those?
rear was just something i wanted but i dont really need. so i decided against it.... the trans is a A4 700r4 and im afraid to put it in the car cause honestly 700r4 is the worst trans ever made. i killed my last one just driving around. puls the car would always slam into grear like it was on crack, it felt like i was destroying the thing.. but lets just say its indestructable... besides my mom talking around and trying to find me a good deal on a car, im still trying to find a way to save my 3rd gen. iv been talking to this kid- his dad owns a hot rod shop and he says he can order me a brand new gm creat engine plus install for about $3000 maybe $4000 ill know a better price range by later tonight. see if im really going to try and fix this thing i need to do it right - no junk yard blocks no half assing it to save money. if my mom is coa signing my loan she needs me to have something that was worth the money and isnt going to break on me again.

If you want something thats going to last and just about never give you problems, then A honda or Toyota is your best bet. ha ha ha.
Before my F-body I had a 95 Civic. That thing saw red lines everytime I drove it. Childish I know but it never gave up. I cam'ed it and complete suspension and JUst about ever bolt on you can think of for under $1000. So the car and mods were around $3000. Sold it to A buddie of mine and he is from Las Vegas to LA every weekend. Not one problem. Why I got rid of it? B/c my heart was all American Muscle! This is her, Even did A battery relocation at absolutely no cost. With Some thinking and some metal strips. ha ha

Even if you do get a new motor the chances of something messing up with the car are alot greater. You have to remember the car is old. If you dont have a constant stream of money then I would not recommend. They take money.

Also remember that if someone pulls out in front of you and your car gets totalled more than likely you won't get any of that money from the insurance company.

Also you need to start establishing your credit. Buying a used car on a loan is how you do that.

Electrical, The mileage. Everything. There is a big diff. Suspension ok, but there is a higher chance of something messing up.

p.s. Create a sig. Just for future reference.
