  • Pulling-Not going Straight

Well As you know I had the problem with my tires. That's pretty much gone. Now After I got my car aligned I noticed that the car still pulled to the left like is had ever since I lowered my car. The guy adjusted the thrust angle b/c I had it all wrong when I installed my Adjustable control arms. So at this point the steering wheel is straight but the guy said that the Camber is off a bit in the front. He claimed that he didn't want to adjust it b/c the bolts on the lower control arm are on there with lock tight and if he loosens them the chances of them staying tight are slim. (I think that's not right) I'm going to see if it gets better. I cant stand the fact of having to keep constant pressure to the right in order to keep the car from pulling to the left. its very very light. Does anyone else experience this?

    Thanks a lot guys.

I have or had this problem.

After 2 alignments the problem never was cured. So come to find out, my driver side caliper was sticking and that driver side hub was failing also. So after a full new brake install and replacing both hub assemblies, she went straight!

I hope that's not your case...but I understand, haven't to keep the wheel turned 1-2 degrees left or right to keep it straight drove me nuts.

Did you get a print out of your alignment before and after?

The tires are directional. So thats not going to help. He did say that one tire was wearing more than the other in the front. Could be that no?

u can still do it, just that u have to remount them the right way. what was the camber spec? was it out alot or a little?

Yeah I would have to remount them. What im going to try is take it back after work today. I called the shop and they said bring it back in and they will check it out since there is a 3 month warrenty. I mean they have a very nice Alignment rack and software to run it so. I just went out to my car and looked for the spec sheet and I think I left it in my room. So Ill get the new specs today I hope. Yeah He said that the camber was not out of spec but it was pushing the Stock Specs. He also said that the reason why he didnt want to adjust the Camber is b/c of that Lock tight on the bolts and it will not stay tight. Is this true. Do they have Camber kits for these cars other than Replacing the A-Arms?

Also one of the main things that was wrong was the Thrust angle. So I hope he reviews everything. I cant stand it pulling at all. From what I know this car has never been in an accident so.

they also put loc-tite on brake caliper bracket bolts, as long as he gets the torque to factory spec he should be ok. and since ur car is lowered u should get revised specs for it. i kno the machine i have at the college i go to(its a hunter alignment rack/system) u can open a program for vehicles who have been lifted or dropped. ask about that and have them search the program, my teacher didnt kno this till i found it just farting around one day

No He did. Alright so I went back today and He was like trying to beat around the bush saying its adjustable and this and that. Well I called Some other shop asking exactly what they would adjust on my car, and the guy knew right away b/c his brother has an f-body. He said the Thrust angle, The Front Camber, Caster and Toe all for only $10 more than what I had already paid. At that point I was mad, but the guy started working on it. He adjusted the Caster, Camber and toe to the best possible specs he could. The Camber was still a bit off but it was within spec. Ill give you guys the eact numbers later on tonight. I took a picture of the screen b/c I felt he would not wanna give me the print out (Which he didnt). The thing ride straight. no pull so far so we'll see how she acts tomorrow on the freeway.

Well here is what the Caster i think befor he adjusted it. The Thrust angel is at .12 degress's so I dont know if thats going to be a big factor. But Like i was saying I can really feel the stiffness from the SFC and everything now. Its weird. Its really stiff, and it does not pull at all from what I have noticed.
He got the Caster to just about perfest spec and the Camber on the pass. side was like -.03 degrees and driver was -.01 which he was saying with my weight it will be equal. I Dont remember if it was psoitive or negative.
