Ive heard very different things involving cam swaps, from someone whoos experienced, just how easy/ what do you need to dissasemble. Im not asking how to do it but am i going to have to pull the motor out cuz theres not enough room or is this not such a bad change.

Look in the "How To's" section of my Tech Page. There is info on how to remove and install a cam.

that awsome man, thats a huge help, having said that, what would be the best cam for my basically stock ls1, (Crane cams 1500-6000 216/224 .551/.551) (trick flow 2,000-6000 2.16/220 .560/.560) or ( comp extreme 1,800-6,000 222/224 .566/.568) Now im not just talking about the power, but the compatibility to my basically stock engine, if i can use the extreme cam, witch seems to be the best, then i would go for it, im just not sure if its too much, or what other parts that would require me to get.

do you want a cam that's going to work with the stock computer chip or are you going to have the car tuned once you do the cam swap? of those cams you listed will work with the stock computer tune.

look into custom grinds. If you're going to put a cam in, you may want to port the heads and put new valvetrain in. You're also going to need headers on there.

Your better off getting a custom tune. And As Raro Said your going to need headers and Recommend some Rockers, Push-rods and Springs. That will give you a nice number. Thats my plan when I do my cam Swap:

                Roller rockers
                Valve Springs
                Push-Rods
                Lifters
                Custom grind Cam
                Custom Tune
                Mid-Headers
                ORY-Pipe
                LS6 Intake Manifold
                (No head work)

Should put me in the high 300 to low 400 hp range Im hoping. Pushing me mid to low 12's before I blow my rear-end. ha ha ha ha

well im running on a serious budget, cuz soon im going to be pouring my money into a real racecar. that cam that i said should fit in with the stock stuff, and yes, headers and a full exaust are on the way. If i had the money, i wouldnt even be using the stock heads at all. And when you say custom tune, cant you custom tune stuff with a power tuner?

somewhat yes, but not to the full extent of an actual dyno tune.

how many miles does your car have? if you're under 100k adding new pushrods and lifters is just a waste of money.
