I didn't think the A/C systems using the thermal expantion valve uses an orifice tube. Where is it located?

These cars have an orifice tube instead of an expansion valve. They are completely different, but perform the same function. They create a pressure drop via restriction. Pressure drop is the source of the system cooling.
It's the hose from the accumulator to the condensor - top passenger side - usually covered in a black plastic braided material.
