Good replacement fog lights?

One of my fog lights gave up.

Can one replace the bulb on these on my 97 TA?

Are there good aftermarket replacements one can recommend that would improve the overall lighting situation and are easy to install?

FYI a 55 watt halgen bulb puts out about 500 lumens. A 35 watt HID puts out about 2000 lumens.
A 4300 temp will be white. A 6000 temp has a slight blueish tint and won't match your headlights.
I wouldn't use HIDs on the road without projector housings. They scatter light everywhere.

if you can, the silverstars are pretty good. i threw the new ones they have in my moms truck(i think the ultras?) they are nice and bright, low beam and a big difference in the high beam

The silver stars look good and work well they just don't last very long. They even say it on the back of the package. I got tired of replacing them in my wife's car.

They will be blinding to on coming traffic so probably not. Now if you could find some projectors to mount in there with HIDs you would be amazed at the difference. My fogs now light up the road as well as my old headlights used to. All cars should have projectors and HIDs. From now on mine will.

I did that on my Z28's foglights. As long as you don't drive into traffic with them on, shouldn't bother anyone- Actually, on the couple occasions I have forgotten and left them on, nobody flashed me, so I don't thing they are that bright- but they do make a difference with the total light output-

With the stock 880 bulb, you could hardly tell if they were on or off- with the HID's you can see that it does get a little brighter when you switch them on. They are only 35 watts, as opposed to the 27 watt stock bulb, but I think I had to upgrade the fuse by 5 watts. (I also have extra bulbs in the taillights, same circuit, I think) The 4300 K temp bulbs throw the most light, and are a very crisp white- like stock HID's you see on Lexus and Accura. They actually run a little cooler than halogen bulbs, so I am not worried about melting the 'quality' plastic factory foglight housings. Life expectancy of HID bulbs is supposed to be around 3000 hours, I have some that are 10 years old that I originally had in a Caprice.

Yea the kits from JW have a GM connector on them. Mount the ballast, it comes with double sided tape, plug the ballast into the harness, stick the bulb in and off you go happy as a pig in.... The HID kits in the fogs will amaze you. They are actually useful.

I received the JW HID fog inserts today. Tried to scout it out where the best way was to get to them. Looks like from the bottom or ..?

I installed those new bulbs yesterday. Fairly simple once you get underneath and find your way in there. Only negative I found was that I had to change the polarity on the wires otherwise they wouldn't work. One connector came apart ok while the other one did not.

I had bought the 4300 ones and they look great in comparison to the pop up pumpkin lights I got going. Seriously considering upgrading those as well. Are there any good replacements for those including a new projector?

That's the right and wise °Kelvin setting to really illuminate the road... the pure white color besides the 6000°K. From 8000°K and up are rice, dangerous and silly to buy..are not worth it in my book.

You need to replace the seal beams with H4 housings. Hella and Cibie are the NHTSA accepted because its beam pattern.

I purchased a long time ago, the Hella Eurolight H4 headlights with stal lenses not plastic, plus a HID BiXenon sytem with Hi/Lo xenon (ther are Hi halogen/Lo xenon = not worth it). More watts more bright. There are since 35 Watts, 55 watts and the new 60 watts. Thera are with normal ballast or slim ballast...not a difference.
The best HID sytems are german or japanese...stay away from China (cheap but crap).
