3.4 auto only 112? Wow..my old 3.1 with an A4 topped out at 120 and still had enough to make 123-125 if it didn't have a limiter that cutoff at 5300 rpms

Regarding meyerman's post: If you're talking about a speed limiter, I believe the LS1 f-bodies are limited to 160 or 162 mph, but in many cases, it will not reach those speeds due to outside conditions (wind, etc.) As far as a rev limiter, isn't the LS1's @ 6000? I know the LT1 is 5800, and the LS1 was a few above that.

These 4th gen f-bodies will top out in 5th gear with a 6 speed - if you have the stock 3.42s. The 6th gear is a 0.50 ratio, which is far too high of a gear to top out (especially a stock LS1/LT1). I think that it will go up to a certain RPM then just hold there; so you should hit 160 in 5th. Please correct me if I'm wrong with any of these statments.

You are right... the M6 T/A's top out in fifth, not sixth.

i dont promote driving on the street that fast, and when i did it it was still very dangerous. i will tell you thow, at 154 it was like at 70, just that every thing was blury except straight ahead! i was totaly at ease

My '94 T/A came with the 110 speedometer too but i bypassed it with the Hyper Tech Power Programer. Plus, my P285's 17 help too

Any one got an idea what my stock 95 z will top at , its kinda not too good of weather conditions to try it out. plus i just got it dont wana wreck it cuz it had to have been an old guys car cuz its got 34k on it and its flawless

My old 95 with an auto used to just bury the speedo. What is that.. 155? As for the accuracy of the guage at that speed, your guess is as good as mine. I have a picture somewhere around here of the needle buried. It was on Hot Rod's 1998 powertour. What a ride, we were going 120 past cops that were waving and smiling at us down one stretch in Colorado. What a rush.

I had the speedo buried, with a red 97 SS in front of me leading and a blue Viper GTS coupe with white stripes blasted by us in the left lane going 180. I looked at my buddy and yelled "incoming!!" We met him at the next gas stop and asked how fast he was going. WOW. We're lucky we didnt die, but it sure was fun.

lol man i wish cops were like that around where i live. ive goten pulled over 5 times in the last week because i have temporary out of state vehicle in transit plates on my car because i drove to pa from ny to get it. and every cop has been quite the a hole to me too. as for the speed i guess its good to know i can take it to the max not im proly ever guna do it , mines auto too but mabe sum day once im done with all the mods i got planned ill see how fast my z can go
