With the lack of new F-bodys and the dawn of the C6, I was just wondering what everyone else is going to do. Do you think the C5's are going to hit rock bottom or will pent up F-body guys buy them up. I am giving serious thought to grabbing a low mile 98-01 C5.

I've resigned myself to . I've been reading good news about Ed Welburn and Bob Lutz. They should have a Camaro out by 06-07. If for some reason that doesn't fit my expectations then there are lots of options....

GTO (updates in 05 and new design in MY07)
    Charger (still possible)
    Used C5
    Used F-bod
    Mustang
    Solstice

In the meantime I'm slowly putting money away...

Apparently the SVT Cobra is goign to share the same fate as the f-bods... I am hearing 2004 will by the last model year for them... not sure exactly how this applies to the topic, hehehe... but I guess I am saying if you decide on the Mustang, you better act quick
Former Ride: 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 - 345 rwhp, 360 rwtq... stock internally.

      Current Ride: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT Limited - spec.B #312 of 500

The new GT should have about 300HP. The Mach 1 should still be around and Shelby version should hit the streets in '06. There have also been rumors of a Boss Mustang. As far as Cobra, well, I guess we'll soon see.

Camaro should return for the 2007 model year. They're working on it now. Design studies started a while ago.

I love F-bodys, but when the price of a pre-owned Infiniti G-35 coupe comes down into the mid 20's or so, I'm going to go that way.

Boy, if I had the money, I'd get myself a new GTO. Still no F-Body or corvette, but a LS1 6-speed RWD car, it's gotta be fun!

                      1 - Buy a used C5.
                      2 - Buy a Mustang.
                      3 - Drive the current F-body forever.
                      4 - Buy something else.
                      5 - Wait for 2007.
6 - Cry into your pillow every night.

                      I had to go with 6, implying 3 and/or 5.

My current (lack of) job situation leads me towards driving the paid for bird 4ever... but that should change soon and maybe I'll get the itch again for something new. C5 is just a bit too-sporty for me right now because I feel I need, at least a sad excuse for, a back seat. Nothing else on the entire market (under about $60k) creates that magic "I got to have one" feeling for me right now...maybe someday.

Flash - '97 Black WS/6, Intercooled Powerdyne 11# , LTCC Coil Per Cylinder Ignition, OPTI High Voltage Deleted, 160, Short Stick, BMR-STB, adjustable Shocks, PP+ w/scan, !CAGS, Flowmaster 3" cat-back... 43k miles as of Aug. 2006

**-** BOOST, it's no replacement for displacement, and there's definitely no replacement for having both!

I don't know, the Monaro looks pretty cool. Maybe some of it will rub off on the GTO.

Well I had the opportunity to see the GTO at the Tampa auto shop a couple af weeks ago. I must say I was quite disapointed. I had all intentions of it being my next car, but no thanks. It did nothing for me at all. G-35 Coupe on the otherhand does it for me big time.
