Hanging Caliper?

My right rear caliper has been dragging. I have replaced the pads, rotor, caliper and drained and bled the system. I have disconnected the parking brake.

Despite all this, it is still dragging. What is left to cause this? Could there be a crushed line or something?

Since you replaced basically everything back there, are you certain the e-brake cable is not pulled too tight? does the caliper slide easily along the carriage? Plenty of lube? If it isn't that, it is in the hydraulic system.

Check the things that Joe mentioned, but a possibilty that I have seen only twice is a collapsed rubber brake hose. If nothing else works and this is the ONLY wheel that is hanging, replace the rubber brake line to that wheel; it may be collapsed internally.

I did make a quick visual and the line looks okay but I am beginning to think maybe the line has been collapsed somewhere. Man, I hate to know how much that is going to cost.

You wont be able to SEE it, its collapsed INTERNALLY. I ant imagine a rubber line costing all that much.

Well, that's true. I was thinking of the preformed metal one but I suppose a rubber one shouldn't cost much. Anybody come across a good way for a backyard mechanic to bleed a brake system. I am so frickin tired of opening and closing the line, shouting at my wife to push or not push the pedal, filling the resevoir up, crawling back under the car....

You can pick up a one man bleeder kit that contains a vacuum pump. Pretty simple to hook up and bleed the brakes.
