"so i am confused, whats the final recommendation as for coolant manufacturer"
Your not going to get a recommendation that is "an official recommendation by the F-body message board". All you going to get is opinions by individuals. GM recommends Dexicool but they also sell it. Everybody is going to recommend their products over someone else's. I've seen several post of this stuff looking nasty and people having heating problems. I've seen it in my own car looking nasty and had cooling problems of my own until I changed it. Now after only 2 years it's looking nasty again. I'm changing to the green stuff. You and everybody else can do what you want. (No flames intended) It's the American way,
.
"and if flushing the system doesn't help what would be other reasons for malfunctioning heating system?"
Give it try then come back and ask. I would flush and change the thermostat so that you know what is in there and that it is good. This "is" our recommendation. I think the reason Jeff is saying "Give it try then come back and ask." is that the other possible reasons for this condition are not fun.... HVAC related, looking for a vacumn leak, mis-adjusted vacumn actuator or cable, probably buried deep within the dash. Also, a power flush and coolant change is a very good idea and good preventative maint. for many parts of the car.
I'll also add an unofficial
vote for the regular/green stuff, as long as you replace it again in 2 or 3 years...

**-** BOOST, it's no replacement for displacement, and there's definitely no replacement for having both!

Listen to Kerm. The "green stuff" is abrasive to any seals or gaskets exposed to engine coolant in late model GM motors. These motors are specifically engineered for an ethylene glycol based coolant. Would strongly not recommend putting conventional coolant in your LT1.

What would have been in my 94 firebird. I always thought it had dex-cool but I just had to replace my radiator and the coolant was orange. It was also extemely gunked up. I had to do the heater core flush about 3 months ago.1994 Firebird Formula, M6, Fan switch, 160 thermostat, Pacesetter LT headers, Morosso CAI, TB bypass, True duals.

Well FastTa actually got me to thinking until I ran across this today. http://www.classlaw.info/_wsn/page3.html2002 Electron Blue Vette, 1SC, FE3/Z51, G92 3.15 gears, 308.9 RWHP 321.7 RWTQ (before any mods), SLP headers, Z06 exhaust, MSD Ignition Wires, AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs, 160 t-stat, lots of ECM tuning
