Hi guys...
I am tryin to determine whether I SHOULD take my car into the dealer or not. Ive had major major problems in the past with dealers tryin to fix my cars, and thus I am almost ready to just live with this problem, so please give advice.
I have a White 2002 Trans AM Ram Air, 6 sp hurst. 22,000 Miles
When Im driving, and i go to shift into 3rd gear, sometimes the transmission does not grab when I release the clutch, and kicks the stick back out, but this only happens sometimes, and usually happens if im not on smooth road. Im jsut wondering if this problem could worsen and whether or not its worth taking into a dealer who IF he even sees the problem, will dismantle the trans and mess it up worse!!!!! I kinda feel like i can live with the problem, but I just dont want to let it go now and really give me a problem later.
Once its in 3rd gear, it does not fall out, regardless of bumpy roads or not, its just when i am in the process of shifting, sometimes it misses. Also, if I just leave the clutch in, and push the gear up to 3rd, if I am going over bumpy road, any kind of bumpy road, the shifter will fall out back to nuetral, and i dont think thats normal.
Let me know any advice please. I am not a mechanic, so breaking it down in lamens terms is best. THANKS!
