Got my 285-40-17's from the tire rack Tuesday; had them mounted yesterday on my SS rims; they fit with no clearance problems whatsoever. I was surprised that they weren't any wider than the stock 275-40-17'S BFG's that were original on the car; both measured around 10.750 wide; the 285's are about .300 taller though.

Probably end up with "Buster", a former jail guard turned Nurse assistant or LPN to make a bit more money to pay off the loan for his Firechicken.
He may be blonde (on his back) with big jugs, and will give you a nice vigorous spongle bath getting all nooks and crannies that will make you feel violated............but somehow you enjoyed it
