Now that you guys have convinced me to buy some zaino. I am not sure which one or ones to get. I got a black 96 T/A. So I think I am going to get the z-2, z-5 and spray enhancer. Does that sound good? And when i apply it, they say to go up and down on the sides, does that mean just strainght up and down or in a circular motion up and down. thanks tom

back and forth motion, not circles. up and down the sides, and nose to rear on hood, roof, and tail.
it can be removed in any fashion you want (after curing of course)

okay, what about me?
I have a '86 Caprice Classic. 2-tone blue (dark blue on top, almost sky blue on bottom), and the top blue is new paint, and I will hopefully get the bottom blue painted soon. It has no clear coat, and has been just virgin paint for about a year now (but hasn't had that many miles). It has some minor swirl marks in the paint BTW.my car:

1. zaino is not wax, MacG's is. wax is only 80% optiacally perfect (optical clarity..of light passing thru its "layer"). zaino is 99%. this is even more important because:
2. zaino layers. it has no solvents. wax has solvents. when you apply another coat..it removes the previous coat.
3. wax is water soluable. first time you wash your freshly waxed car, the "gloss" factor drops way down. zaino is not water soluable. only thing that removes it is rubbing alcohol. you an remove all your wax just by simply washing the car with liquid dawn or other dish soap.
4. zaino has a uv rating of 40.
5. bugs, tar, and even debrit on the road such as rubber chuncks that may contact the car, wont stick. it sticks to wax.
pollen doesnt stick. acid rain does not penetrate....it does with wax.
the more layers, the better protection, the deeper wetter look.
believe me..ive been detailing cars since i was 16......im anal. i have tried them all.......and even some new stuff...ive never seen or found anything better.
and im 57 now.

I've been keeping my cars in top condition for more than 40 years. I've tried everything.... and before trying Zaino, I was the "Meguiars Man"..... used everything they made. But after trying Zaino, I will use NOTHING else on my car. Been using it for more than 5 years. People can not believe the paint on my car is original and 10 years old. Its a race car, not a show car, but I've got more trophies from the shows than I have from the track.....

I'm a detail man too...and Zaino gets my vote. Nothing like it...literally. Going on my second order in a few days...sick stuff.

I was in the business for awhile and I can say that all products will work well when used as an entire system. Zaino happens to be the cream of the crop. After the initial application, nothing else lasts as long with the least amout of upkeep. Now if you're anal about your state of detail, Zaino keeps getting better with each application, where that doesn't happen with traditional waxes. Besides that, here is a bit of detail trivia that will help you decide which is best for you.
Wax has astaline structure. The only way to make it spread evenly and thinly on your paint is to modify it with solvents. These keep the wax in a spreadable form. Once applied to your paint, the solvents evaporate, leaving behind the base wax. As the wax hardens, it slowly reverts to a
staline structure again and with that comes a diminishing shine. Crystaline structures are considered abrasive. I would never allow wax to come in contact with my paint!
Now the positive side of wax: Inexpensive, less initial steps to apply, temporary protection from the elements.
Zaino is not astaline structure, contains no abrasives, contains a SPF ultraviolet screening, lasts longer, not self leveling which means each application builds an additional layer.
The biggest optical differance between the two is that wax helps hide flaws by diffusing lightwaves. Zaino hides the flaws by literally straightening lighwaves and reducing the dispersion created by the defect in the paint. What the end user often describes is that the shine of Zaino tends to sharpen the reflection of objects in the paint, making the paint look deeper, wetter and smoother than waxes.
No folks, I don't work for Sal. I'm just a real tough audience who is sold on the product.
