  • best bang for buck?

I have a 94 RS with 106 K and is bone stock. I was wondering what the best mod would be (bang for buck?). Open to ideas.

You can do that or u can get a supercharger. There arent too many cheap ways to make a six run fast.

I always hated that "get a V8" answer when I had my ol' 3.4! Of course I did end up buying a V8 when I saved up the money, but that's besides the point. It's not quite that easy to trade a V6 for a V8...and you can't do an engine swap unless you have a donor car. Sometimes ya gotta work with what ya got. He can do lots of stuff to make the car a little faster there are plenty of guys out there with quick V6's...I know a few personally.

Try http://www.camarov6.com for some help! Good Luck!

I'd rather buy a Z28 then put an LT1 in a RS. I mean the Z has better brakes and handiling, right?

Yeah...that's what I mean about having a donor car, you'd need to pretty much swap the whole car

Bang for buck? I makes a sound like "pssssssssssst".

Of course, with that many miles it might go "pssssBOOOOM" just as easy.

Not really an easy answer to that one.

                Just curious-

Anybody dump 4.10 gears in their V6 ride? seems like it would be a nice mod that might crutch the HP difference. Other than that and typical intake/exhaust stuff (I've heard some nice sounding sixes before) I'd go with MN6WS6 and say nitrous is the cheapest way to run with V8's. However, the 3.4L is plagued with having a pretty skimpy piston in it- the motor is basically a stroked 3.1, and in order to accomodate the longer stroke, pistons were shortened including the skirt and the face was made thinner, a bad thing when you run nitrous. I like to see V6 cars outrunning V8's so I don't want to discourage you, but be careful if you start spraying.

There's a guy in NJ that goes 12s on the bottle and 13s on the motor with his 6 banger FBird. He did tell me that he had a lot of work done to the 6, of course, (I guess runing 13s..duh) but anyway...

NJ guys, can ya back me up on this??

Too much of a gear. 3.4s really like 3.42 or 3.73 max. The most popular appears to be the 3.42 swap.
