Overheating Problem

Well, I hotwired the fan and it works. So now I am going to buy a new coolant temp sensor (only $5) and check the fan relay. I also ordered a Hypertech manual fan switch (turns the fan on at 200 instead of 230) and Thermomaster PROM (calibrated for a cooler thermostat) because I don't want my car to overheat ever again. This should fix the problem but I will let everyone know how it goes.

Well, I replaced the things I said I would (fan relay, coolant temp sensor, and the fan switch with a Hypertech one). The fan still won't come on. It should have come on at 200 with the Hypertech fan switch I bought but the car got up to 240 and I shut it off and still no fan. There are no trouble codes and I have still yet to try turning on the AC to see if the fan turns on (the AC doesn't work, though). I am stumped, any suggestions?

Check for power at the relay. manually trip the relay and see if the fan turns on. You'll have to look at what terminals on the relay to use. Most relays have little diagrams on them showing which terminals do what.

Okay, I haven't tried manually tripping the relay (I am going to do that soon) but I tried grounding the fan switch wire which should make the fan come on but it doesn't. The fan will come on if I turn on the AC, though. This is just getting weirder and weirder. Any suggestions?

I manually tripped the relay and the fan works. I am going to rig up a switch for now that grounds the relay but I don't really understand what the problem is. Any suggestions?
