I have a 160 stat now but can't afford to reprogram the computer now. Is it worth putting it in w/out the reprogram.

You don't have to do anything to the computer to install a 160° thermostat. It will keep the engine cooler as long as there is air flow across the radiator. It will still heat up just as much in traffic until the fans come on, but will cool down more when you get moving again.

I will put a fan switch in once I install the 160 stat. This way I don't need to reprogram and if it starts to heat up in traffic I just throw on the fans.

Or run the a/c. The second fan kicks on and keeps temps cooler than without.

Does the 160 stat. affect the emissions in anyway?
