I'm testing a hypothesis here... curious as to who frequents this board. No need to state what you voted for or why, I'm just looking at numbers. I'll let you know what my hypothesis was and whether I was right after people have had time to vote.

I am rather liberal on personal freedoms as far as a republican is concerned... but a strong supporter of free markets and low taxes being the only way to grow an economy.

Very conservative, no more stinkin taxes!, use our own oil and our own refineries. Make the Government protect our borders, and let private enterprize do everything else.

Well, it looks like my hypothesis was proved right. I figured there'd be far more republicans on this board. My reasoning was: the type of person who drives (and is an enthusiast) about these cars is also the type who would oppose government regulation because that regulation tends to strangulate our hobby. Of course, it is republicans whotend to favor smaller governement and less government involvement. The fact that there are as many people who consider themselves independant as democrat is interesting.
But don't worry, even though you're republicans, I still love ya!

I screwed up my post somehow...that line about the donkeys was the last line in the post, lol.
I voted for George, Sr. I did agree that the Republicans began a turnaround in this country that Lord knows we needed...
I know that the hostages were released the day before Ron took his seat (Iranians were crazy, not dumb), I liked that, too.
Then the womanizer came along...
I was a card carrying Republican and crossed party lines when I voted for him in 92, i gotta tell ya, I have no regrets. I think this country did just fine. Course it helped to have a Republican House most of that time (right?)...but what do I know about politics, I just go with whatever works......

I'm 32 and I have not broke 50k, but I am getting there. I think there is more to party affiliations and politics then just finances. The thing that means the most to me, more then anything else, is the freedoms, liberties, and self-determination to chart my own coarse. I get pretty agitated when that is challenged. It is even more intensified for me because I grew up in the rural west. It is not wrong for people to have a difference of opinion that is what drives the genius of invention, but it is wrong to force those opinions on others regardless of which party or affiliation one belongs to. Anyhow, this is what drives my political activism because I have seen way too many horror stories in my line of work.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
