        What about the 4L65E? I read a great Super Chevy article a while ago about Chevy trannys and they said a L65 is the best way to go(out of the 4L60/65/80/85). The 4L80E and the 4L85E are more for big blocks and the L60/L65 is a small block tranny. L65 has upgrades over the L60 and has a higher hp and tq rating. Is that a better tranny to go with?

            The 65 is no doubt a nicer unit than the 60 in stock form. However, it will not take extreme abuse -its better than the 60, but will still need to be modded to handle large amounts of power. For the money, I think your better off modding your 4l60E.
