The cc305 is a little more streetable than the cc306 and doesn't give up much power. The 306 shines at the track, while several guys I know pulled the 306 and went with the 305 for a little more streetability.

I figure about 15 hrs for an upper end teardown and cam installation. Replacing the heads and gaskets would save time, but add to the cost. Whatever mechanics and shops charge per hour in your area and multiply by that and you'll get a ballpark figure. (Not including parts). If a shop charges $60 per hour, that's $900 labor.
I'm glad I do all my own work.
Saves me a ton of dough and the peace of mind that it is done correctly.

You'll have to shop around. Each vender has their own prices, but you can expect to pay between $600-800 for cam, roller rockers, springs, retainers pushrods and lifters. That is an average range for most engines. Careful shopping may save you a few bucks.Originally posted by gunter96ws6
