  • Top Speed for a M6 car...

    Is it drag limited or is it redline in 5th gear?
    Former Ride: 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 - 345 rwhp, 360 rwtq... stock internally.

    Current Ride: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT Limited - spec.B #312 of 500

    I have heard that sixth gear doesnt do much good (drag limited). So I guess 5th gear redline would be it....

      Top speed, with the stock 3.42 gears, was in 5th gear. 6th wasn't drag limited, it was power limited. Just couldn't pull the rpm with the .5:1 ratio.

      4.10 gears would make 6th gear the top speed gear as the extra ratio would allow it to pull some more rpm.

        Could you drive to the top of 5th though?
