  • Some moron just rearended me.

Stupid kid. I stopped to turn left into the McD's to get my daughter a McFlurry. I'm a religious freak for blinkers. I always use them. I'm sitting there and I hear brakes. I look up in the mirror and see the windshield of a 93 Honda Accord. I hit the gas but it was too late. WHAM. I pull off and it looks pretty superficial on both cars. We traded info. I didn't bother calling the cops. My wife says I should have. I might should have but it just seamed to trivial. It's pretty cut and dried no matter what he says. I got home and wiped the grease from his car off mine and there are black smudges that won't come off. I got out the old McGuire's wax with a light rubbing compound and it took it off. The paint has some funny crack marks in it though. It's right at the bottom corner of the tag. I can't see any damage to the metal bumper from inside. I've had 2 rubber bumpers repainted and both pealed so I'm afraid to take it to be redone. I'm considering just leaving it. The kid gets out and says "ah, my brakes wouldn't stop me." Well maybe if you were paying attention they would.

I thought you were going to say like you have no trunk anymore. People these days really need to pay attention. Of course I am a teen and we have the highest accident percentile...but in my town the only teens that get in accidents are the riced cars. Nicest car in school, a 95 Prelude, with crap load in it, hits 2 deer and totals it to an extreme.

You're so bad. LOL The closest I have come to San Fran is Birmingham Alabama. That's close enough.

some one backed into the front of me today pulling out of auto zone if it makes you feel any better. I called the cops though, not much damage, front bumper is all spider-webbed and i know the foam pad behind it is squished, front clip is all loose now and the airbag light is on. He said he'll pay out of pocket, but i have the insurance info just incase.

            Before you go fixin things....

Might want to not do any more cosmetic work before the insurance adjuster appears on the scene. They go by what they see.

Next, the energy absorber behind the bumper pad may have gotten damaged and you can't tell until the bumper pad is removed and a visual inspection is made. The bumper pad is damaged if the paint is cracking.

One of our Z's took a pretty good hit in the tail. Same story as yours except the other driver never bothered to slow down. Son said he saw her just staring out the windshield with no evidence of even trying to slow down. He braced for impact and the rest is history.

To compound things, that car was then hit by another car so it hit ours again! The third car's insurance agent was trying to determine how much of our damage was his client's fault. Ok. lets straighten out a bit of the damage and then we'll let you pay the rest. Been a year and we still haven't gotten it all worked out.
