  • elecrtic waterpump install

i am putting a electric water pump on my car while i am putting in the new optispark. i was told i needed to remove the shaft that comes thru the block but it seems to be riding on a bearing or seal or something and it is stuck in there pretty good. do you have to remove this shaft? is there somthing that will happen if you leave it? i just do not know i have a install proceedure that says nothing of it and i can not find anything anywhere that does mention it one way or the other. please help i am ready to drive my baby agian.

fownd two answers to this question. csi say remove it but it is optunal. meizer makes no mention of it. it is a major dissasymbly to do so. you have to pull the timing cover so that means, waterpump, opti, pulley and pully snot.

www.ls1howto.com covers the install, step by step with pictures. Hope that helps.
