Too Fast? Too Furious? HA! Read on...

There are some moments in life that are just so gratifying, it becomes difficult to put your elation into words. Yesterday evening at the Border's Books in Ededn Prairie was one of those moments for me. While i am sure most of us consider SportCompact Magazine and its clones to be evil tools of the devil, I was drawn in by the cover of one of them that asked, "How fast are they really?" -- That's right, they actually tested the cars from 2 Fast 2 Furious to see if they could walk the walk the same way they talk the talk. The answer... a resounding NNNNOOOOOOPE.

Among some of the cars tested were the Supra, the Skyline, the Lancer, the S2000, and the Yenko Camaro. In reading the article, the author took a pause to explain himself for including the muscle car. When he listed that car, he explained to the ignoramouses that read that garbage, "don't laugh... it turned out to be the fastest one." HA! I say again, HA! Boy was that ever gratifying...

In reading on, I realized that all of those other cars were so beat to hell from the steroids put into the engines and drivers ragging on them that most had difficulty hitting the 13's! Even the Supra if I remember right was in the 14's. The Skyline came the closest to the Camaro -- the Camaro ran either high 12's or low 13's, I can't remember. Oh and by the way, the Lancer had a completely stock engine, only appearance mods had been doen to that car. I wish 2 Fast 2 Furious would post those numbers so morons wouldn't think they could hit the 10's by throwing a 4 foot wing, a coffee can - fart sounding muffler, NOS, and a turbo on mom's 93 Civic which is sure to explode in a few weeks.

Only one thing left to say... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... HA!

Yeah, I saw the same thing info a couple weekends ago on one of the speed shows on TNN. Those cars sure were pooches.

Oops, that was Super2NR TV you saw it on. Yeah, I admit I saw it too!! They mentioned the times for every car--EXCEPT the Camaro. hahaha

I read that article as well. The saddest parts:

All of the cars that had nitrous kits in them were never sprayed because the kits aren't functional.

They took the front driveshaft off of the GTR so it would drift.

The Evo VII had 170 or so miles and they said "it must have been rode hard and put up wet for 168 of them" or something to that effect. But it still was AWD.

The pink S2000 was the best of all the imports.

The GTR has 3 bottles in the passengers seat and all 3 have remote bottle openers (like the reach to the passengers seat is SO FAR or something!


Funniest thing they said: The Yenko (which is a knockoff by the way, but is replicated to the T) only responds to throttle input, nothing else!!

im gonna see it just because i actually did kinda like the first one. But i thought the ending was telling us the new one would revolve around muscle cars, it kinda got my hopes up. Oh well. I doubt it will be that great of a movie.

I MIGHT see the movie...and teh only reason would be to see the Rustang get bashed to pieces. At that point in the movie, I'm going to stand up and cheer!

That reminds me of more useless knowledge.

That Mustang is a REAL Saleen, not a knockoff (you'd figure they'd dress up a V6 since everything else in the movie is SLOW, but I guess they had plenty of budget left).

The Corvette was not supposed to flip. They feared that it might flip so they put a strap in the floorboard so the stuntman could pull himself into the floor on the passengers side if it did flip. They considered reshooting it but the outcome with the flip was more dramatic. So what you see in the movie was actually not what was scripted to happen.

issue of Motor Trend they have a small section on the "2 Fast 2 Furious" movie...it's actually quite good. They tested three cars, or could have just pulled the test numbers from somewhere else. Anywho, the Yenko was the fastest...out of the Lancer Evo7 and the "super bad Import muscle car" Skyline GT-R R34, apparently, the Skyline could only muster mid 13's at 104...while the Yenko destoryed the times at really low 13's at 110...lot of people would figure that the Skyline is so much faster considering that it looks so much more macho.

Anyways, another one for us Domestics...10's!!! Yeah right...I wanna see they say that in the movie.

Hulk Trailer has a shot of the hulk squishing a bunch of cars and 1 is a firebird.( i hope it was really a honda with body panels!)
