Fred or someone else would have to give you a definite answer, but the obvious would be that for some reason detonation isn't as much of a threat in the LS1. Whether it's due to increased ignition efficiency or decreased compression or some other reason, I don't know.Dave M

t could be a clogged radiator. I had an over heating problem and decided to take it in. Turned out my radiator was clogged with leaves and debris. I also got a coolant flush and that took care of it. Also, a couple weeks ago I went diggin' underneath and found a Burger King bag sucked right into my radiator fans. It's always good to check on it once and a while.
Just wondering, how do leaves get into the coolant system?93 Trans Am; Hooker Cat-back;

I have heard the the patent on the "reverse cooling" concept is held by Evans (NPG) Coolant, and GM had to stop using the system. I have never seen a "proof" of that.Originally posted by ryan34So why did they convert back to conventional in the LS1?
Sorry just curious

Well, if you wire your starter motor backwards and swap all your spark plug wires and injector wires around you could make your engine run backwards, then you would have reverse cooling. You would also have to drive around in reverse to go forward, but you would have a lot of reverse gears, which you don't have right now. So, yeah, I guess there would be a benefit to it...Originally posted by ryan34Is there anyway to convert my car to "reverse cooling". If so is it benefitial?
