  • Replacing 96 T/A foglights

I can't seem to find any way to get at the back of these foglights, do they pull out from the front or something? I unscrewed the torx bolt at the top of it, which I later figured was probably an adjusting bolt, and now I can't get it to thread back into anything. Anybody know how to do this?

Get underneath your car towards the front bumper. Release the 3 clips that hold in it in place (pliars are good). Hold the plastic panel down as you unscrew the 2 bolts that hold each foglight in place. Unclip the connectors and wallah!

Ditto to DJ. I completely replaced mine as I found some brand new LS1 foglights to put in my 96 for $20. The 98+ have plastic lenses that dont crack near as easy (sounds ironic, but its true).

Anyhow, my glass ones kept cracking and burning bulbs. Ive master replacing these things. Those 3 plastic clips can be tricky, but once those are out, you have excellent access to the fogs. Just twist off the bulb harnesses from the back, unbolt the foglight brackets and out they drop!

          Awesome, thanks guys
I figured I would have to get those things out, but i couldn't figure out how. I guess the job just calls for a little brute force.
Also, is the torx-head fastener at the top an adjustment bolt, or is it one of the two that hold the whole thing in place?

I think that's an adjustment bolt.

You would think someone would have realized that these foglights are impossible to get to and done some better engineering. Thanks yet again GM.
