  • 94 Camaro Z28 won't start.

My buddy has a 94 Camaro Z28 that won't start. It will crank over and over, but does not get ignition. I'm not too familiar with Camaros. Is there a common problem in the ignition to check for? I know he changed his plugs and wires a while before it stopped working. He thinks it is the Opitspark, but the part is somewhat expensive. Is there anything else to check before replacing the optispark? Ignition module? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Please forgive me for correcting your spelling. I couldn't stand another thread with a Camaro spelled wrong. No insult intended.

Before taking it appart check for spark, then fuel. If either of these is not there than you can go from there.

check the coil wire, some times where it connects to the coil it gets corroded or it pops off. coil is under the intake elbow bolted to the front of the drivers side head.

He replaced the coil and definetly has no spark. What are the possible reasons for no spark?

Some testing info that might help.

Thank you Norm. It does get somewhat proverbally annoying.

              No offense to the speller.

What's REALLY bad Norm and Kevin is when it is the person who owns the car that spells it wrong. again no offense to the original poster, this one wasn't his car anyway.

Sorry about the spelling guys. Next time I will spell CamEro right. Anyways, it's my friends car and has been sitting for about 8 months now. I just want to see it back on the road again.
