Just wondering if anybody has used this stuff before? Is it any good, I wanted to use the gear lube and the ATF. Any input is appreciated.

I've been using the motor oil for over a year now and have been very happy. Been meaning to use the ATF and gear oil, but just haven't had the time.

Royal Purple makes quality products. Lot's of racers swear by it. I like to use the Amsoil and Redline synthetics however.

Thanks guys, i plan on switching to synthetic fluids. I'm gonna use mobil one for the motor oil and I think I'll use royal purple for gear and ATF. I also plan on installing a shift kit, could i do that myself or do i need to get it done at a shop? I've heard its pretty easy but i've done one and never seen someone install it before.

My dad and I installed the Level 1 B&M Transpak on the GN. Wasn't too bad, just involved. One thing...make sure you have all the check balls in the right location. If you haven't had your tranny serviced in a while, it would be easier on you to have that done and have them install a shift kit while they're in there. Shouldn't be more than $50-$100 extra at the most. And it is definitely worth it. The GN leaves some serious rubber when she shifts...scares the heck out of unsuspecting people

What kind of tranny does the GN have?

I saw on Horespower Tv on Spike they took an LS1 SS Camaro and replaced the motor oil, the gear oil, and the transmission fluid with Royal Purple products. The dynoed before and after and the they recorded a gain of something like 5-10 HP from just the fluids. Must be pretty awesome stuff. I am guessing it is pretty expensive though, but probably worth it.

The oil itself is about $4/quart, but lasts longer and will also yield better fuel economy (personal experience). Not sure on the other fluids' prices, but its definitely worth it.

Synthetics kick A$$! I run Mobil 1 Motor Oil & ATF. The car runs smoother, goes faster, feels stronger & hopefully will last longer. SYNTHETIC IS GOOD!!

Ive also been wanting to use Royal Purple, but i want to run it on my motor, transmission, and rear, by using it on everything is the only way u get the extra 5-10Hp according to an old hot rod magand also was proven on the horse power tv as said already. issue i read a while back. but it is kinda pricey the motor oil is $6 a quart and the atf is $10 a quart and im not sure about the gear fluid jegs sells it u should find it in their catalog on online and i also saw a commercial on tv that o'reilly auto parts store sells it u can check their site for a location around you oreillyauto.com (i think).

Well what do you guys think is better, the royal purple or mobil 1 synthetic? Just for the motor oil.

According to spec sheets I've seen, Royal Purple is better than the Mobil 1 Synthetic. Now, that's not to say that M1 Syn. isn't good, believe me it is. But, the best bang-for-your-buck would be Royal Purple. Its about $4/quart at a local speed shop and gives you instant AND long-lasting results...it just works. Just my 2 cents.
