So, are there any bulbs for the fog lamps to give the same results? I've been interested in doing this to the Z but couldn't find anything for the 93-97. Thanks guys.Steve

One of my lights went out as well on Friday. This is really odd
! As Jeff pointed out, I was infact able to pry out the bulbs from the "Guide" housing (OEM Housing) using a large flat head screw driver. It was no walk in the park, but it's definetly do-able! What I found though was that its not as simple as taking one bulb out and popping in another. In order to duplicate the beam pattern of the OEM housing, I had to shave off part of the lip of a standard 9006 bulb so that it would sit at the right height. Beam pattern should be the main concern when doing this mod because even the best bulb will not light up the road correctly if the beam pattern isnt right. Im working on a new setup as I write this, and so far things are looking good! I'll post some pictures up later of my previous attempts for better night visibility. As far as the fog lights are concerned, dont waste your time or money! They do nothing to improve visibility as the beam is far too narrow to really light up the road. Narrow beams are good for fog, but bad for normal driving. If youre gonna swap out the bulb, make sure you do it for looks, and not performance! Another option would be to upgrade them with new housings and bulbs, but thats a whole other subject.

Yeah sorry, I was talking about sealed beams for Firebirds I didn't realize you had a Camaro. The dude with the conversion on the previous page, that's damn clever!
Check out Sylvania's website, maybe they have Cool Blue for a Camaro, they do make a small difference. I just think their Silverstar line is not
worth the extra $$.1993 TA SOLD

Ok, here are some pictures of some of my lighting projects. I recently picked up a pair of housings from Pep-Boys for $20 with the goal being a better light pattern. The difference is really noticeable compared to that of the OEM housing. Keep in mind that my OEM housing were fitted with 85W 4350K Bulbs, compared to a regular bulb from the Pep Boys unit. Also note the shaving around the neck of the 9006 bulb. This is necessary when using Guide housings in order to achive the same light pattern of the OEM unit.1996 Arctic White Z28, A4, K&N CAI, TByrne MAF ends, BBK Twin-52mm TB, TB Bypass, SLP 1 3/4" Shorties, Richmond 3.42's, Dynomax Bullet Muffler W/Turn Down, BMR Adj. Well I put the new bulbs into the modified housings. That was MUCH easier than I thought. Modifying the bulbs and housings took only 15 min with a dremel.
I used a Sylvania and a GE housing. They're identicle right up to the lens. One of my old one's was a Guide housing...I preferred the GE beam pattern. Looking at it, I don't know how the guy got the bulb out of the Guide. Looks like a major PITA.
Bulbs I used were Sylvania 9006 XV (extra vision) 55W. I bought them last year when I tried to use the Autoptiks housings...what junk. If I had known it was going to be this easy, I never would have wasted the money.
Anyway, if I'm correct the stock bulbs are 40W. I thought about going higher than 55W, but didn't know if the electrical system could handle much higher, so I played it safe. [edit] stock bulbs are 55W
I'm going to install these tomorrow afternoon and will see how they do....The only question I have is if I put the bulbs in at the right depth so as not to throw off the beam pattern.Joe K.

Good post below...from 94BlackBowtie on camaroz28.com:
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...dlight+upgrade
Due to the high number of folks interested in upgrading their headlights on the ’93-’97 Camaro’s, I took a little time to figure out the details on the wiring. If you just want the answer without an explanation, see the bold print below.
I checked all of this out late last week/last weekend, and here's the deal…
Headlights – They run off of 16 gauge wire. If you run a 30 amp relay in line with the lights, you can power, (also can be dependant on the relay), 2 - 130W MAX (with a 20% safety factor, which I would definitely use) Bulbs. For more information on where I got these numbers, see this thread. Simply spoken, the 30 amp relay will provide all the power the 130W bulbs will need/use with 20% added in for safety, through the stock 16awg headlight wiring.
Fog Lights – They run off of 18 gauge wire. If you run a 30 amp relay in line with the lights, you can power (also can be dependant on the relay), 2 - 100W MAX (with a 20% safety factor, which I would definitely use) Bulbs. For more information on where I got these numbers, see this thread. Simply spoken, the 30 amp relay will provide all the power the 100W bulbs will need/use with 20% added in for safety, through the stock 18awg fog light wiring.
So, to put all this as straight forward as possible…
To run higher wattage bulbs in the headlights, and get all of the power they need supplied to them, run a 30 amp relay in line with the stock wiring (also with a direct power draw off the battery). The maximum wattage bulb you can safely run on the stock wiring is a 130W bulb.
