Only real mistake was that there was a camera on him. By the way, besides having his buddy killed by a terrorist playign dead, he was also shot in the face the day before but went back to duty.

I couldn't believe it when I heard that. Fox News is not allowed in Canada while Al Jazeera is allowed. WTF My wife would call that a red flag. We joke about all of the red flags we missed in our first marriages.

The first rule of control of the population is controlling the media. look at all of the oppressive governments of the past. That was the first thing Hitler did when he gained control of Germany. (I'm not comparing Canada to Hitler, just stating a fact) Russia, Saddam, you name all of the bad ones. BTW rule #2 is controlling the education system. So much for rule #2 in the US.

The united states is the leader of the world, and we are always trying to set a better example for other countries. So, if that terrorist was handcuffed, searched, etc..., and then was shot, that's when i think it is wrong. Now I haven't seen the video, but from what you guys have said, it seems like he was faking his death and wasn't searched or anything. I'll tell you right now, if i was in this situation, i would put a bullet in the back of his head before i did anything else. Like kevin said, put yourself in their shoes. You are witnessing these people killing your brothers that you are fighting with, very cold bloodedly might i add. Faking death, just to have an opportunity to get close to marines so they can detonate a grenade to kill as many as possible; cutting heads off, not being uniformed soldiers, etc... I just don't see how we can have mercy for some of these people, and i HATE how the media spins things to make us look bad. In war, you can't take chances. Taking a chance might cost you your life. How many people are willing to take that chance? I know i surely wouldn't. I feel he got what he deserves, end of story. If these liberal media reporters think otherwise, and try and make these terrorists look like victims, then we should send them to falluja to sit down and have a nice "civilized" chat with these insurgents. I guarantee you their views would change if they actually had to deal with these people. It's easy to sit back and criticize, and it's a totally different thing to actually be a part of trying to make a difference and fighting terrorists along the way.

Ask that question of the "leaders" in the Canadian gov't. We are talking about a country where just about all of the television stations are gov't funded. CBC and CTV are very liberal from what I have experienced. I was talking to a reporter from CTV who happened to be at a wedding I was at here. (He was a friend of the bride) He was so anti-bush, it was sad. Not to mention you could tell he wasn't a big fan of americans in general. Then there is the woman who is in the prime minister's cabinet who has said in televised and radio interviews, among other things, that "Americans are bastards that I hate," she said lately that she couldn't believe the ignorance of re-electing George Bush and that americans must still be suffering from the stress of 9/11 to have made such a stupid mistake. This person says all of this and the prime minister refuses to fire her! Now what does that tell you? The gov't is so bad here that my Canadian wife has said that she would love to write the prime minister and tell them that "Congratulations, you have pissed off one of your citizens enough to where I am going to gladly move to the states." She has also said that she might become a US citizen and give up her Canadian citizenship. She is just fed up with where the country, and specifically this province is going. I can't say I blame her.

Ontario Alberta & B.C. are the least anti US provinces since they have so much trade going both ways.
The western provinces[Man & Sask] along with Quebec are the most anti US provinces because they are have not provinces and are jealous of anyone that is successful.
The Maritimes live mostly off the federal govt's pursestrings and are more leaning toward equalisation payments and make work programs.
That woman who is always blasting the US has been doing so under 2 P.M.s,both Chretien and Martin have said just about nothing to reel her in.
The states are our closest allies and the govt. treats them as lessers,I have never comprehended this.

It seems to me, that back during Reagan’s term, that we got along with Canada just fine. It seems like just in the past decade, things have turned around to the point that they hate us now. I used to think Canada was cool, just quietly sitting up there like a big sister country, ready to back us up whenever we needed backing, and visa versa. I didn’t realize how much they hated us until I was reading some stuff on this website that was based in Canada, and read all of the extreme hate mongering going on there. I thought it was just an isolated case. There are a lot of French in Canada. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but I wish we could go back to the day when we got along better. All in all, I don’t think that we will ever have to invade Canada, because that would be ridicules, but so is their hate for us. Do they not realize that we would be the first to help them out if they needed help? Just imagine if we could get them on board with the war on terror? Maybe they need a 9/11 to wake up? Thats what it took for most of us to wake up, but unfortunately a little less than half of this country is still asleep.
I don’t think that we hate Canada down here in the US-not most of us. I know I don’t. I am more disappointed than anything else, I guess.
