i know what it says, and its a very very gray area, its soley based on the intended use of the item. if you intend to shoot it through car doors, then it is a weapon. if you intend to shoot them across a field, then its a "toy" or recreational device. the problem lies in who sees it, and what they precieve its intent to be. unfortunately intent is decided by a bunch of lawyers typicaly, and in that case it has gone further in the system then it ever should have. all i am saying is becarefull, thats all.

My dad made a spud gun a few years ago. It was insane. 5" PVC chamber to 2" barrel. Used a grill ignitor. We used aquanet.. We had an apple tree in the yard that was almost an endless supply of "spuds".

I was stupid too, and decided that I should drill a 1" hole in each apple, and shove an M-80 in the apple.. I'd fray the wick, and stuff it wick down into the barrel.. BOOM ...... BOOOOOOM!

It was pretty sweet.. Just like a grenade launcher.

        Nice cannon

Back in junor high me and my friends made a potato gun that dwarfed that one. Ours was about 15 feet long and a 3 inch or so diameter. We used Aqua Net hair spray and when we shot it accros a big water retention ditch that was proly 1000 feet accros we cleared it and hit houses on the other side. When that baby ignited it litterly sounded like dynamite and it shot flames out the end and the whole tube glowed red/orange when that baby blasted. No exageration at all!!!!! Then we painted it camoflage.

There you have it....... Let the spuds fly. I wonder about cluster spuds..... a big enough pipe is easy, but somehow I have to figure out the dispersion angle. Multiple spud re-entry is the goal here.

Wouldn't it have been a bummer if something flew off the door and hit your car???

Nah, we've launched spuds against objects before. There is never anything bigger than a pea left. Instant mashed potatos.
