I have a 94 formula and looking at sizes. Does a 285 fit without rubbing in the wheel well. and or what is the widest I can go with the stock wheel well.

I have 285s on all 4 corners with 9.5 inch rims. It's never rubbed.

Many guys here have 315s in back. It's a tight fit and may require using a adjustable panhard bar along with some "massaging" of the inner fenders with a BFH.

I have 285's all around, the front rubs against the plastic fender liner a very little bit when the wheel is turned all the way, not enough to bother me or make me want 275s.

The 285 on the back is fine, by why on earth would you want a 235 on a 9.5" wide wheel in the front. Most tire manufacturers do not even recommend a tire that narrow on a 9.5" wide wheel. You would have to go with a 235/50-17, to avoid going below the stock tire diameter, and that tire should not be put on a wheel any wider than 8.5", and preferably on a 7.5" wide wheel.

If you are trying to get a "skinnies" look in the front, you are going about it completely the wrong way.
