  • NFB Going back to school!!!

Four years ago, if i saw that type of enthusiasm in me wanting to go to school, i probably would have had to kick my own arse . It's official though, i got the email confirmation today, i finally am going back to school after 2 years off now. I just received all my grants/student loan stuff, and I'm all approved and good to go.

On October 3rd, i will officially be starting my education at the Wyoming Technical Institute...Wyotech, in Laramie, Wyoming. I'm going to get an associates in business management, be well on my way towards my ASE Certification in auto (second year of hands on comes while actually working), and am going to take a chassis fabrication/high performance engine class . The best part is, i will have achieved this and graduated all within 1 year. I will eventually go back and take their custom fab/painting class as well, but will need more $$$ before that happens.

I'm at work right now when i just found out that it's all official, so i had to tell someone....might as well be my gearhead friends here at the 'ol f-bod site . Best part too is that i can actually work on my ride during some of the classes....hmmmm....i hear they toy around with forced induction during the engine high performance class

Sorry if i seem a little too enthusiastic, but as i'm sure some of you know, you have to live pretty poor at times and have to work your @ss off at a horrible job to achieve your goals....something i have been doing since i graduated hs in '03.

I wish you only the best, man. If there is ever a moment while you're there when you question if you really want to be in school ANY longer, just keep at it. A prof of mine once told me, "No matter what, keep going, because where you end up will open more doors than from where you came."

Good luck from a guy who's never received a salary because he's still in school...at age 28.

Congrats! Education is key these days. I plan on going back, just can't afford it at this moment. I never could make honor roll in school ever, always missed it by 1 class, same for college. The last semester I attended (after graduating college) was with the Cisco Network Academy and it was a cram session. 4 semesters (2 years) into 1 semester!
Well, I got straight A's! Kinda proved to myself that I can do it. Hope it does the same thing to you.

Wish you the best of luck

Thanks for the kudos guys....appreciate it . School will always get rough at points, but it's something i want to do and will put my best efforts into it. Anyways, if i don't at least get a 3.0 GPA with a 97% attendance rate, i don't get to work on my own car in class....call it motivation

lol, it's funny cause i'm already alot of my friends mechanic. In fact i have a nice car weekend coming up. My buddy with his '84 bird and I are parkin' our rides in a nice, large, heated garage, and we're gonna "go to town" so to speak just a 'lil bit

That is defenitely motivation. Somehow I envision staying after just to work on the car you bring!
