I used to be a subscriber to the Macs-don't-crash theory, but I've used mine too long to continue in that belief. For a while, however, the Mac OS seemed to be more stable than Windows. NT, 2000 and XP ended that. With apps, as I stated, Wintel by-far has the most. But, if I can play Halo, Warcraft III or many other games online with fellow PC-users, I don't see much of a problem. If you're looking for Mac software, here's a quick guide of what's available...

We've got a hybrid at the church/school I work at also, which is why I've been delegated any and all Apple situations, from purchasing to maintenance and replacement. Besides, it could be worse...could be Linux lol
Hey I like Mac OSX, no argument there. In my area its harder than usual to get mac stuff. Im 2.5 Hours from a Major city. and in alberta there are only two mac places to buy from. Westworld computers, one in Edmonton the other in Calgary. This makes it hard for home users in alberta. I stil own a powerbook, and If I was to buy another laptop I probably would buy a powerbook again. I know that ATI cards (Canadian ) are always out for PC first. The 6800 may have been out for Mac first I dont know, but the majority have not. If only mac would let others build "clones" they would become more popular and cheaper. This may cause a los in reliability, but I think it would mostly from a "you get what you pay for" kind of reason. They did allow clones for a while, i think only two or three years. Now linux is a different story If you like OSX then you have to like linux as linux and OSX are derived from UNIX(OSX runs on Free BSD)

Hence the reason why I love ordering online. But, I do see your point...stores stocking Apple parts and software are few and far between. Just for reference, I've found www.macsales.com (Other World Computing) to be fast, cheap and a great source of products, as well as www.powermax.com (PowerMax). I have no real problem with Linux itself, its some of the fanatics...they scare me more than the Apple fanatics lol

LOL ya fanatics are bad, I dont see linux hitting desktop computers anytime soon in the main stream. to many commands to learn, everyone is spoiled to piont and click, you'll never see a move towards a command line based OS (kinda like dos but nicer looking) in the main user market.

Linux is getting to that point, but still nowhere near XP and Panther. Besides, panther comes with the UNIX command line prompt amongst a slew of other cool things (just about every modern programming language compiler for free).
