Not likely. GM has basically stated the GTO will be Pontiac's RWD muscle car.

It's hard to get excited about the prototype. But it really doesn't matter to me, because by the time the car comes out, I'll be too old to buy it. Hope they let me park my Formula at the old age home driveway

My guess is yes they will, and it will be introduced as a 2008 model in mid 2007.

                Just my guess

                    Now that's funny!!

Seriously though, I see alot of Chrysler in it too. A bit like the Crossfire with Charger undertones. After the wait, GM has got to do better. If the car cannot easily be identified as a Camaro, no one will buy it. Besides, by the time 2008 - 2009 roles around, the RWD craze will be past it's peak. GM needs to get on the ball earlier. If they release it now, it's got a chance. But the RWD muscle car craze is now two years old (with the news of the Hemi's return and new Mustang kicking it off). By the time this hits the street, it'll be 6 years old, and on the downturn. Once again...GM last to the party.

They certainly did a much better job designing it than I thought they would. Looks great, and with a 6.0L engine, 20 and 21 inch wheels (probably going away) I would definatly buy one...... hugger orange ....

Keep in mind it's a concept. While the major lines and design will likely make it to production, concepts almost always lose their more outlandish design cues when going to production. Those 20 and 21 inch wheels will likely become 18 or 19 inch, and the interior will likely be softened to appeal to the masses.

This was just posted on a Vette board... doesn't bode well for this making it to production at all.

Lutz states a hefty market requirement
                                http://today.reuters.com/news/newsAr...RS&srch=camaro

"Lutz said GM could make the new Camaro profitably if it could sell between 150,000 and 160,000 of the cars each year."
