only had stitches once in my whole life...mary says thats incrediable. lots of butterfly bandages though....LOL

have healed hole in my right leg where i hit the coral surfing at the Pipeline on an 8 foot day.... should have had skin graft but waited too long...

my forearms, legs and parts of my chest looks like i fell thru a plate glass window if you look closely...between all the coral cuts surfing over the years and all the wolves and wolfdogs claws doing rescue and just playing with them.....

I have some pictures of when I nearly severed off my right ear. I was thinking about competing in slalom skiing that summer and my Dad bought me a nice slalom ski for my b-day. My uncle was pulling me behind his boat and I was experimenting with different rope lengths. The shorter the rope the more speed you carry across the wake and the more difficult it is to get around the buoys.

Well I was at 22' off I think and I wiped out going across the wake pretty good. The next thing I remember was my uncle hauling ass in the boat back to the dock. All the girls in the boat were looking at me like they had seen a ghost! LOL. I looked in the boats rear view mirror and my right ear was hanging by a thread of cartilage. I was covered in blood and it was still pouring out. Weird thing was it didn't hurt one bit...I'm sure I was shock, but I never lost consciousness. I was enjoying the attention from the girls too much to care about stupid blood or pain!

I'll dig up the pics if I can find 'em. All I have is the pictures of the after-surgery. 86 stitches and 14 staples. That was my coolest injury to date!

sounds like the tow rope or handle got ya?

My most painful injury was a torn hamstring, and then a strained hip(worst though becuase i couldn't bend my waist which meant i couldn't sit. Then my broken wrist/thumb. Cast was on for 3 months.

You guys with these injuries remind me off all the stupid stuff I did when I was younger. I've had my fair share of breaks, bone grafts, staples and stitches to last me a lifetime. I won't go into all the details but suffice to say there's not a day goes by that I didn't wish that I was more careful in my youth.

We had a hard time figuring out that one also. Best we could come up with was that the rear skeg on the ski must have flipped up when I tumbled and bit me right behind the ear. You're going over 70 mph when you cross the wake so I was movin'! Lucky to still have my ear and some other body parts.

I do some recreational golf and tennis, although I'm very bad at it. The occasional game of football or baseball, although most of that is now with my son. I like pool, if you consider that a sport. Oh, and competitive highway driving!

Living in the northeast, grew up skiing and playing hockey- dad put me on skates when I was 4, so that was good. I quit in high school 'cause I couldn't control my temper- when I got hit or fouled, it would just turn into a brawl.
Went out for high-school tennis, used to play that a lot, until volleyball took over my life- I am down to 3 nights a week, the GF wants some of my time. Love 2-man sand, where position is more important than power. Like 6's in the gym, where I usually set- I'm the quarterback that gets the ball to the big guys.
Little golf, 18 handicap- nice to get out and away for 4 hours. Not an athletic game, but pretty, sort of zen-like. You need to focus on the instant. But, yeah, volleyball- quickness, eye-hand coordination. If you think about it, it's all over.

Yeah two man sand is a lot of fun. Very tough.

Setter, most important postition. I'm a hitter, they just point at the net and say "you hit ball hard". So that's what I do.

I "play" golf as well... If that's what you want to call it. I try to get out every weekend during the warm months around here. I just played my last round of the year last weekend. too many leaves on the course.

It's frustrating when I finally smash a drive down the center of the fairway and I can't find my ball.

Golf is a good excuse to get drunk, cut some donuts on the greens in the golf carts, and yell obscenties at the little old ladies in the short plaid skirts! .......oh and dig a hole to China because I suck at teeing off!

I was told I have a natural baseball swing and that's not good for golf.

I used to be awful when I teed off. I would swing for the green every time. It was so bad that it actually hurt when I swung my driver (never a good sign). I learned to slow it down and just make solid contact. I've gotten much better, but I still am only a 16 handicap.

                            But I'm a scratch drinker!

                              Sports a plenty

Since I've been around a bit I played many sports. When I was younger it was Softball and Baseball. As the years passed I started to play a lot of Tennis until the knees said no more.
Then an assortment of Martial Arts, Gojo Ru Karate, Korean style Karate, Judo, Aikido, and last Brazialian Ju Jitsu. One of my sons trained with me in the last two styles. He is good at Ju Jitsu. He even fought in some of the local UFC style fights and did an exhibition with his trainer in one of them. Lately I have gone back to one of my early sports, Pool, which is something you can do for a lifetime. I have my own professional table at home but that game requires endless hours of practice to stay at the top levels of play. I have played in many leagues and tounaments winning some in my earlier days but not lately. Have played against some Pros and come out second best. If you get one shot a game against them you are lucky. At least you get to keep your body parts in that sport, except your mind, which I lost long ago anyway.

Negative, though, maybe someday- love that powertrain, and the stealth styling is good for an easy 15 over- I do have two 110-115 german shepards, though, who think they are sissy wolfs- amazing how intelligent, and compassionate they are- Used to have a 9C1 Caprice, with the LT1- another sleeper hot rod- people think it was grandpa's car, until it smoked them

Upon thinking about this further, I realized that I am on the LS1Tech forum, and the LS2 forum also- maybe you recognized my name from there?
