That was one of the fastest times around for a bone stock LT1 car, wasn't the fastest but one of. Most weren't that fast.









Seriously, there are lots of reasons. I've had stick shift cars off and on for 25 years and for a nice cruise, the auto wins every time. For the dragstrip, the auto wins too. Main benefits of stick shifts are the ability to launch at the desired rpm of the driver, gear choice is also up to the driver, better mileage because of the double overdrive, it's the only trans that will live in extended top speed runs like the silver state classic and engine braking.
