It's good to see that you appreciate everything that is being done here for you, but if you arent going to post about the same problems all the time then you can't be taking the advice given to you very seriously, or you wouldnt be getting the same responses. Perhaps if you tried their ideas and then posted their effectiveness it would work out. It's good that you learned from your mistakes but don't get the wrong idea about these guys, they only want you to get the best advice possible so you can get your car up adn running properly.

Thank you, your right. I I do owe them alot. I just lose track of all the information, and repeat myself. I must be going loony. I'll just search them all and copy the replies. I do try what they tell me, but I only have Saturdays to do most of the stuff. I just rented a garage too, so now I can work on it here too. I cant use my friends shop all the time

I still stand by my statement that unless a shop is using a wideband 02 sensor and can modify every single parameter that exists, they aren't doing an acceptable dyno tune. For what it's worth, I probably have more experience with tuning a V6 than most on this board. My GN is based on the same basic configuration as the latter 3800s and it is in the 10s at 130 mph in the quarter. I've been experimenting since 92, and have done 100% of the work and tuning so I am confident in my analysis of the situation.

Thank you for the information and clearing some things up. I was misinformed on the capabilities of the HPtuners. I had planned on not going, or if I did, maybe just do some pulls, just to see where I stand.

You at least need a wideband fitting before the cat - they should be able to do it for you there, but if not, you will need to have it done before you go - I realize there's not any time for that... An O2 sensor probe up the tailpipe won't work with a cat before it. It would be good to know your a/f ratio, or else i don't know what all they're going to be able to do for you other than tell you what power you're putting to the wheels. Shame you don't have the exhaust sorted out yet. Anyway, good luck, and let us know how it goes.

before you go and rule out the dyno tune altogether, make sure you talk to the shop and understand exactly what they'll be doing for you. If they resist or can't seem to tell you like they have been, then I'd try to find someone else, even if it means having to wait until you've saved a little more money.Dave M
