You really don't want hot exhaust directed at the fuel tank, the suspension, the floorboards, wiring, etc. All it takes is a minimal "turndown" to point it away from critical components. In my case, I have the twin 3" turndowns pointed inwards, in an attempt to minimize the noise that exits the sides of the car. This is required to meet the noise limits at our local track. I also have interchangeable turndowns with noise reduction cones for a bit more noise control if required.

Okay I tried taking muffler off and I like it at idle, but when I rev it it is ridiculous loud. I've already put the muffler back on. Guess I'll have to focus on something else like my rattling shifter. Does anyone know what could be the reason why my aftermarket( pro 5.0 shifter would rattle while in gear?

My Pro 5.0 rattled when the bolts that hold the lever to the shifter came loose. They needed to be "double nutted" to prevent them from coming loose repeatedly.
