Are you going to be doing your own spring perches, shock brackets, LCA brackets, and panhard bracket on the axle housings?Comment

Yes, I am buying another f-body housing to do measurements, and then I will be cutting and pasting the bracketry. The torque arm bracketry will be the hardest as you cant weld to the cast iron pumpkin housing. I've got a few sketches of a bracket that will be welded to the axle tube and u-bolted to the housing though. We'll see how it goes

Go to the Strange Engineering
website, and look up the 12-bolt for the 3rd/4th Gen cars. They have a dimensioned drawing, and they use the stock attachment brackets. Page 65 in the catalog.Fred

That indeed is a good diagram, I just wish it was bigger and easier to read. I signed up for a new catalog so hopefully it will be easier to read in the actual catalog.

No - i havent bought the rearend yet. I have talked to Billy Graham @ Billy G's f-body salvage and he said he could ship me just a housing to my door for 125 or so. fastTA - I see in your mods that you have a custom 9" rear. Did you build it or buy it from moser or someone else? If you built it, what did you do for the torque arm mounts?

The complete aluminum center section and spool are from Strange Engineering. I am doing the same thing you are doing right now and welding on my own bracketry to the axle housings. I ordered the torque arm bracket already on the pumpkin, luckily
This car has not even seen the track yet believe it or not. My previous hydraulic roller setup with 233/239 CC ran wicked fast on the street but never had time for the track, so after only 2 months I decided to really get serious with the car. The block is being converted to a spalyed 4 bolt right now. So as soon as that is finished, we can start putting the motor back together again. Raceweight should be about 2830. It should a fun ride!

I got lucky and bought it used from a friend for $550. So it looks like I will be able to save about $1000 doing the rear end myself after all said and done. Keep us posted on how you are coming and I will do the same

Thats a good deal on the housing. Thats my plan too - to save about a grand. I think I can do it if my torque arm bracket works.
