  • cam swap

    i'm looking for some cams that i could drop into my 95 3.4L v6 instead of the OE ones, i've heard of other people doing it but give the specs of the new cams they put in, any help would be appreciated

      Yeah, you don't need a cam to be bad. Just get a personal plate or windshield banner with your username and that should scare all comers...

          Sorry Hellscull - couldn't resist. There was a guy on this list back a couple years ago named Bill Spano who modded his V6 to be pretty fast, but he hasn't been around in a while & not many of us are modding V6s. He weightd 400 lbs. and got his car in the low 13's, but I think he had a 3.8, not a 3.4 Maybe you can find him on the internet somewhere, otherwise get thee over to f-body.org and do a search over there.

              Just call comp cams and tell them your goals and one of their techs can give you some advice. I have heard of cams for the V6 in the mid 220 range for duration @ .050. You can also go from your stock 1.6 rocker ratio to a 1.8 ratio.

              Unfortunately there just isn't the aftermarket for the V6 like there is for the V8.
