My theroy has always been Make the car go fast before u make it look fast. As for supras ive never seen one in real life im dieng to race one to see how badly i get owned.
I've seen a Z06 and a Rousch mustang playing around on the interstate before... Lots of traffic, so they kinda went in 1/8 mile bursts... The Z06 was slightly faster than the Rousch... THEN, a Supra TT came out of nowhere... It was holding its own against the Vette... I was thoroughly impressed... That was the sweetest group of cars I've seen on the road ever...
Supra's don't own any stretch of road here TX. No doubt there are some fast big turbo Supra's lurking out there but from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to here in San Antonio there are more and more supercharged/turbo LT1/LS1's putting over 800 to the tire! Several in excess of 1000 RWHP. These are all street driven cars too!
It is funny, here in San Antonio, there are more and more Viper owners getting n20 kits installed because they are tired of being embarrassed by Camaro's and T/A's
Sorry To Hear That...But If He Ran InTo Me...And I Saw Him On My Rearview Mirror With His Big Intercooler...Lets Just Say Thats Where He Would Stay...He Could Wooosh All He Wanted Too...But He Would Remain In My Rearview Mirror...LoL
What kind of engine do those cars have? I kind of remember them being in-line 6 cylinder engines, but Im not sure. Im not overly impressed with these cars because w/out the twin-turbo, they're really not impressive at all. I mean, if a stock Subaru WRX Sti can crank out 300hp w/ 18#'s of boost, then whats so special about 600 hp w/ 2 extra cylinders, and an extra turbo? But regardless of how they got a particular car to pump out that much power, that is still an extremely fast car. I know I'd get walked by either a WRX or TT Supra. Fast T/A, your right, this car would get walked all over if it was in Texas. Have you ever heard of Jordon Musser? He has a 94 Z28 (daily driver) that ran 10.8 in the 1/4 w/ a N/A engine that he built himself with little cash, and little resources. He even ported his own heads. Now thats impressive!

I wouldnt be THAT confident. Like Jay said, some of those turbo import guys make some serious power up top and they arent driving a 3700 lb car. My car is no slouch either, I havent been beat by one yet, but I wouldnt take it for granted. 9 out of 10, yeah. But its that one that is really emarrassing.

11.6 @ 123mph (1.6 60' - getting there )
Import, domestic... doesn't matter. Anything can be made fast by applying enough cash and using the correct combination of parts. The absolute hands down mid to top end charge I've seen on the street went to a Karman Ghia. A full cage, twin turbo small block chevy, basically a thinly disguised race car. It would walk superbikes from a highway speed roll. First you saw these twin swirls of smoke from the exhaust as the back end squatted down. The car would then simply disappear into the distance. Fairly quiet due to the turbos, but wickedly fast. Nothing I've seen on the street comes close. I'm sure a dedicated 1/4 mile car could outlauch and maybe out ET it, but from a highway roll it was simply brutal. It was geared to go well past the 200 mph and it indeed had the power. Knowing the owner, most likely it never saw the high side of 180.
Yea..AnyThing Can Be Fast With The Right Amount Of Money...I Use To Be A Ricer Kinda Guy...But Once You Taste Some Domestic Power...You Never Want To Go Back
same here, i love american muscle but i still have respect for the import performance cars, not some punk kids trying to make an economy car like a civic integra or accord a performance car.
but i do race them hehe
hey when i go to work and im almost on empty its nice to get some gas money from em
kinda sad tho that theyre egos will not allow them to realize that a 4 cylinder 120 hp car with some intake and exhaust wont stand a chance..
