I guarantee you there are 4-bangers out there that could still hand you your (_|_) on a silver platter. No matter how fast you are, someone will always be faster.
I garantee no street legal rice grinder would ever beat me and i own a stock 99 z28 convertible and i have raced and lost to other v8's and my 02 ramair supercharged has not lost as of yet. But if you guys want to brag about losing to ricegrinders drive a mustang but to disgrace a f-body is WRONG and should be illegal. Racing is fun i do it all the time on a daily basis i most likely have more tickets then everyone on this site put together but don't crap on the f-body name. For someone like you who probably drives a honda civic with a coffee can tip i guess it is fun to race and lose on a daily basis.

if you're all stock and have never lost to an import, you just haven't raced the right import yet. Granted, most import guys are more concerned with their looks and sound system than with performance, but they're are plenty of import cars out there (some even stock) that could hand you your a$$ on the street. There are plenty of street driven import cars that can run 12's and faster. One day, perhaps an import will teach you the benefits of being humble.

It is funny, here in San Antonio, there are more and more Viper owners getting n20 kits installed because they are tired of being embarrassed by Camaro's and T/A's
Thats what i am talkin about if you want to race then have something to do do it with i guarantee there is not a street legal rice grinder out there that will ever touch my 92 t/a gta and my 02 t/a ws6 paxton supercharged. I have raced a viper venom 700r and smoked him in my gta. Point is i thought this was a f-body web site why are we even giving 4 bangers the time of day why do these guys try to tune up mommys cheap rice grinder and try to race makes no sense. I know rice grinders dont own crap here in st.louis either.

My 92 trans am gta has a vette zr-1 32 valve 4 cam motor bulit to sweep on the street is for from stock. I do own a 99 z28 convertible is stock and it has lost but to other v8s and my 02 trans am ram air has a paxton supercharger with just about every bolt on mod i could get and i have not lost yet but when i lose in it i guarantee it will be v8 or bigger. My point is rice grinders dont deserve our time of day if this is a f-body site.

No its not a spoiler its a handle you pull on it and its attached to a string that winds up the car and when you let go it takes off. Thats why rice grinders SUCK all of them no respect from me i guarantee i will never lose to one.

Any pics? I am really intested in seeing the swap, I contemplated doing that swap into a lightweight stripper.

Also, can we can the import vs. f-body debate? It got old 20 years ago and it seems like it never really goes away. Some people are passionate about imports, others about domestics........

When the smoke clears, does it really matter what the person was driving? It is the PERSON that gets the awards and trophies, not the car. Get it?

i know we are sposed to can it but i have one ? if you dont think you can get beat by a street legal import you aint never raced a ferarri or lambroghini (excuse the spelling) Acura Nsx sorry but your car prolly wouldnt stand a chance with those

and so what if i have a hond with a coffe can exhaust whats it matter its a realiable car i wanna see your car get to 250,000 miles and have no problems and then you could have the right to bash imports

I would have to second the vote to end the rice vs. f-body debate. We are not learning a damn thing by trying to compare the two. I like what Joe said...... I think there is a reason that the trophy and money are handed to the driver and not to the car.

                        Tommyz2899,

I want pics of the LT-5 in an f-body. Since you have done it, please post some pics as this was supposed to be a rather difficult swap. I would be interested in hearing the details of the whole transformation if you can. Oh, please let's end the smoking of imports stuff. We're more into the tech and stuff.....

Who said anything about a Lt-5 it is a Zr-1 and it was not that bad of a swap when I bought a wrecked vette and had everything I needed. The hardest part was fitting the fiberglass front clip and doors and cowl hood. The motor was mostly built at wise speed shop here in st.louis then my dad a master machinist here in south side machine shop (largest in missouri) did alot of custom work and it can together. It took about two years on and off had to graduate ranken tech. I had alot of help for teachers on the wiring. I will dig up some pics and figure out how to post them try tonite if not by monday going to michigan tonite be back sunday. The only thing that I have left to do the custom wheels I ordered are chrome SEC five star that are front wheel drive face but rear wheel drive offset and smashed one bad company went out of bus. need major repair and rechromed if anyone knows a good shop let me know.
